5 Iconic Poses for Your Brand Photoshoot (for men)

One of the first comments I get when people call about Brand Photoshoots is that they have no idea what to do in front of the camera.

The good thing is that I got you and I will guide you throughout your photoshoot, you don’t need to know what to do.

Here are some of the iconic poses we can do:

  1. straight to the camera

It’s always a powerful portrait and headshot pose. What makes this photo work is expression. A serious gaze will create a powerful image while a warm smile will make you look approachable.

2. hard at work

Lifestyle photos showing you at work always add authenticity to your branding.

3. wall lean

I’ve always loved this pose and it’s become one of the most requested poses for Brand Photoshoots.

4. desk lean

This is such a versatile pose, depending on your expression it can look very serious or very approachable.

5. in a chair

Using a chair usually takes care of a very common problem during photoshoots: “I don’t know what to do with my hands and legs!”

5 Favourite Books about Confidence

Hello Pure Tribe!

Today I want to share my 5 favourite books about confidence with you.

Healthy confidence is so important, because it allows us to build a life we truly want. It always amazes me how people’s confidence grows after doing a photoshoot. The change is remarkable!

Even if our confidence is not where we want it to be at the moment, we can always work on it.

Here are my 5 favourite books that will help you build healthy confidence:

There is nothing wrong with you by Cheri Huber

Cheri’s book helps to get down to the root of the problem and understand why we may lack confidence. It provides a lot of tools to work on our confidence.

Brave by Rose McGowan

Rose McGowan’s memoir is a tale of building bravery and confidence from nothing. Rose grew up in a cult, faced abuse and harassment in her work. Her life story can be an inspiration to so many people.

The Bravest You by Adam Kirk Smith

Adam Kirk Smith’s book is very practical, because it breaks down the bravery process into 5 steps and also talks in detail about different fears (the fear of unknown, the fear of etc.)

It’s a book you can come back to many times and always learn something new.

Daring Greatly by Brene Brown

Brene Brown’s “Daring Greatly” is a classic.

Brene helps us find strength in the journey, not in results.

A Radical Awakening by Dr. Shefali

This book is my recent favourite. It can be especially helpful for women. We often bury our true selves to please others. But there usually comes a tipping point and it’s time to wake up. It’s a very empowering book to read.

Recently I was interviewed by Juliana Leamen, the host of Confidence from Within Podcast.

We had a lovely discussion about finding confidence in front of the camera. You can listen to it HERE.

Winter Favourites 2022

Over the years I’ve grown to love winter more, but we’re still not best friends.

I love the atmosphere of Christmas, dreamy snow, mulled wine, cozy sweaters. I also have a hard time with shorter days, less sunlight and being lazy and unmotivated. Pandemic winter has obviously been especially hard.

Here are some of my recent favourites which have helped me enjoy this winter much more!

RED COAT

A vibrant coat is something that can really lift your mood during dark winter days. I’ve been looking for a red coat for some time and finally found a beautiful one.

JEAN DRESS

People often think my wardrobe is quite big, but I actually invest in quality timeless pieces. This recycled jean dress is unbelievably comfortable and I know I will enjoy it for years.

BOOKS

Reading is certainly one of activities that helped me cling to my sanity over the past two years. I’m always grateful for books and there’s always more on my list.

“Sweetness of water” by Nathan Harris synopsis: In the waning days of the Civil War, brothers Prentiss and Landry—freed by the Emancipation Proclamation—seek refuge on the homestead of George Walker and his wife, Isabelle. The Walkers, wracked by the loss of their only son to the war, hire the brothers to work their farm, hoping through an unexpected friendship to stanch their grief. Prentiss and Landry, meanwhile, plan to save money for the journey north and a chance to reunite with their mother, who was sold away when they were boys.

“Nothing but the truth” by Marie Henein synopsis: An intimate and no-holds-barred memoir by Canada's top defence lawyer, Nothing But the Truth weaves Marie Henein's personal story with her strongly held views on society's most pressing issues, legal and otherwise.

MOVIE

“The Last Duel” synopsis: Jean de Carrouges is a respected knight known for his bravery and skill on the battlefield. Jacques Le Gris is a squire whose intelligence and eloquence makes him one of the most admired nobles in court. When Le Gris viciously assaults Carrouges' wife, she steps forward to accuse her attacker, an act of bravery and defiance that puts her life in jeopardy. The ensuing trial by combat, a grueling duel to the death, places the fate of all three in God's hands.

PHOTO OF THE SEASON

It’s always extremely hard to choose a favourite photo of the season, because I love them all. Capturing this moment with Baljit was true magic!

TV

It’s always lovely to relax with a good series. I’ve been spending my evenings with these two shows lately.

Younger: This show is funny, witty and the cast is amazing! Synopsis: Liza Miller, a 40-year-old recently divorced mother who, after finding it difficult to get a job at her age, attempts to pass herself off as a 26-year-old in order to get any job in her pre-mom career to support herself and her college age daughter.

Witcher: I’ve always been a fan of the Witcher because of my Polish roots. I’m enjoying the Netflix show quite a lot, however I wish there were more episodes in both seasons. Even though the show is about a monster hunter, it’s truly about love, friendship and politics.
