One of the first comments I get when people call about Brand Photoshoots is that they have no idea what to do in front of the camera.
The good thing is that I got you and I will guide you throughout your photoshoot, you don’t need to know what to do.
Here are some of the iconic poses we can do:
straight to the camera
It’s always a powerful portrait and headshot pose. What makes this photo work is expression. A serious gaze will create a powerful image while a warm smile will make you look approachable.
2. hard at work
Lifestyle photos showing you at work always add authenticity to your branding.
3. wall lean
I’ve always loved this pose and it’s become one of the most requested poses for Brand Photoshoots.
4. desk lean
This is such a versatile pose, depending on your expression it can look very serious or very approachable.
5. in a chair
Using a chair usually takes care of a very common problem during photoshoots: “I don’t know what to do with my hands and legs!”

It was great to work on a more dark/moody Brand Photoshoot with Mickey for her new fashion line. Mickey is very bold with her vision and we’re excited for her project!

I’m so grateful I got to photograph Penthouse Queen Claudine Montano again. The photoshoot took place in one of her beautiful listings, which was the perfect backdrop for Claudine’s photos.
We were even able to create several iconic photos that look like postcards. They show the strength and determination of a woman with our lovely Toronto in the background.
We took countless lifestyle photos in this beautiful penthouse.
Claudine’s personality made the photoshoot even more enjoyable!
It was also the perfect time to update Claudine’s portraits.

In today’s online world, using your personal branding photos correctly is very important.
Your photos are a strong, visual voice, they should tell the story of who you are and what you do so you can communicate the value of your work and connect with ideal clients.
HERE ARE 5 IMPORTANT USES FOR YOUR BRANDING PHOTOS:
Your e-mail signature
A great e-mail signature goes a long way. It should include your headshot for the purpose of building a connection. People always like to see a face behind a business. Your clients will also remember you better when they see a photo of you.
2. Your business card
Please don’t forget about putting your photo on the business card. If you have a more modern card, you can easily put the information on one side of it and your photo on the other side for a clean look. When giving out business cards, majority of people won’t even remember you unless there’s a photo on the card.
3. Your newsletter
A newsletter is a fantastic way of staying in touch with your clients, sharing value and expertise. It really is a must if you want to have repeat clients. Use a photo of yourself in the footer of the newsletter to better build a connection with your recipients.
4. Your client presentations/Your price list
Present yourself as a valuable professional by subtly using your photo in client presentations.
I really do hope you’re taking the chance that is a value-packed client presentation or price list and that you’re not just sending some naked numbers to potential customers.
Omitting this step is one of the biggest mistakes business beginners make.
Use two photos (one in the beginning of the presentation/one at the end) or just one photo at the end of the presentation.
You can include a short bio that tells the story of your passion!
5. Your Instagram
Please remember that if you want people to remember you and know who you are, it is simply not enough to only show your face in your profile photo.
When building a personal brand, use a photo of yourself at least once every 9/12 posts (preferably 9!).
For high end businesses, use mostly or only professional photos. Otherwise, you can mix both professional and phone photos (still looking nice and on brand though!)
Use these tips and make a difference in your marketing today
