You Don't Need To Lose Weight To Have a Great Photoshoot

Not feeling slim enough is one of the biggest worries I hear about as a photographer. While I think we should be confident and love ourselves simply the way we are, I totally understand these worries.

Maybe you tried to lose weight for some time and you’re reaching a point where you’re really frustrated and disempowered. A lot of our clients struggled with this issue, but what they found is when they finally did their photoshoot… they only regretted not doing it sooner.

I always explain what we can do to help, so you don’t need to be stressed about this issue and can end up looking your best, but still like you:

  1. Flattering Wardrobe

We talk about your wardrobe in detail during Your Consultation before your photoshoot and we help you choose outfits that are visually slimming.

2. Posing & right angles

Angles are everything when it comes to photography. People are always so pleased when we show them the results!

3. The right lens

As a portrait photographer and a woman, I choose lenses that are flattering. We’ve all heard the saying “a camera adds 5 pounds”. Well, if you’re using the right one, it does not! On the contrary, certain lenses will make you look slimmer.

4. Editing & retouching

With over 20+ years of experience with editing and retouching, it’s very easy to apply subtle slimming.

xoxo,

Agnes

Guide: Use Your Photos Online

In today’s online world, using your personal branding photos correctly is very important.

Your photos are a strong, visual voice, they should tell the story of who you are and what you do so you can communicate the value of your work and connect with ideal clients.

HERE ARE IMPORTANT USES FOR YOUR BRAND PHOTOS:

  1. Your website & blog

Your hero image (first image on the website) combined with others sends a message to your audience about your level of expertise, your price points and builds your know, like, trust factor.

Blogging is very important for your SEO. Use your brand photos (both portraits and lifestyle images) and don’t rely solely on stock imagery.

2. Your newsletter

A newsletter is a fantastic way of staying in touch with your clients, sharing value and service info. It really is a must if you want to have repeat clients. When your newsletter offers value, people will often forward it to their friends.

Use a photo of yourself in the footer of the newsletter to better build a connection with your recipients.

3. Your e-mail signature

A great e-mail signature goes a long way. It should include your headshot for the purpose of building a connection. People always like to see a face behind a business. Your clients will also remember you better when they see a photo of you.

4. Your Instagram

Please remember that if you want people to remember you and know who you are, it is simply not enough to only show your face in your profile photo.

When building a personal brand, use a photo of yourself at least once every 9/12 posts (preferably 9!).

For high end businesses, use mostly or only professional photos. Otherwise, you can mix both professional and phone photos (still looking nice and on brand though!)

5. Your client presentations/proposals/ price list

Present yourself as a valuable professional by subtly using your photo in client presentations.

I really do hope you’re taking the chance that is a value-packed client presentation/proposal or price list and that you’re not just sending some naked numbers to potential customers.

Omitting this step is one of the biggest mistakes business beginners make.

Use two photos (one in the beginning of the presentation combined with a logo/one at the end) or just one photo at the end of the presentation.

You can include a short bio/company info/statement.

6. Your business card

Please don’t forget about putting your photo on the business card. If you have a more modern card, you can easily put the information on one side of it and your photo on the other side for a clean look. When giving out business cards, majority of people won’t even remember you unless there’s a photo on the card.
