personal brand photographer

Deborah

After we had the pleasure of capturing lovely Dr. Deborah Rosati, she shared her experience of stepping outside of her comfort zone, which included a Brand Photoshoot among other projects. Here’s what she wrote:

When the shoot day arrived, I was nervous. I had done my best to prepare my mind, body, and soul for the experience, but I still didn’t know what to expect. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about. Agnes guided me through every step, helping me stay present, feel confident, and find the courage to be authentic. It was like nothing I’d ever done before! […]

As a longtime yoga practitioner, I am familiar with the principles of mindfulness—focusing on the present moment and observing your thoughts and emotions without judgment. But it wasn’t until the photo shoot that I realized you could use those same tools to approach an uncomfortable or intimidating situation.

By being present, not only was I able to shake off my nerves, but I was able to let my true self shine through in front of the camera.

As Agnes so eloquently explains it, “It will change the way you see yourself!”

Trusting the process

Looking back at each of these moments, I can’t help but notice a trend; each time, everything changed when I trusted the process.

In governance, our job is all about processes. We do our best work when we stick to the steps and trust the experts, knowing that they are great at what they do. […]

Remember, stepping outside your comfort zone is a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Feeling apprehensive or uncertain is normal, but embracing challenges and pushing your boundaries can unlock new opportunities and help you realize your full potential. Embrace the discomfort—and the growth.

My advice? Surround yourself with a supportive network of individuals who encourage and challenge you. Find people who are great at what they do and place your trust in their processes. You’ll be glad you took the leap.

Spring Favorites 2021

PureStudiosAgnesKieszApr11-1.jpg

Hello Spring!

This spring started for me with welcoming a new addition to our family, a very loving and fun kitty Bianca.

She is 8 months old, has white fur and blue eyes. She won our hearts immediately. She’s always curious, happy and ready to play, she even already took part in few photoshoots.

GREEN SKIRT

Let’s start this edition of spring favorites with fashion. This skirt from Simons was such a great purchase. I love green in general, so I wanted to add a green skirt to my collection.

BOOKS

I keep breaking my record of how many books I can consume… Reading is one of my favorite things to do, so obviously I’m reading a ton in quarantine. This time my two picks are incredible books, but they are both disturbing.

MyDarkVanessa.jpg

“My Dark Vanessa” by Kate Elizabeth Russell

Synopsis: Exploring the psychological dynamics of the relationship between a precocious yet naïve teenage girl and her magnetic and manipulative teacher, a brilliant, all-consuming read that marks the explosive debut of an extraordinary new writer.

houseinthesky.jpg

“A House In The Sky” by Amanda Lindhout & Sara Corbett

Synopsis:

The dramatic and redemptive memoir of a woman whose curiosity led her to the world’s most beautiful and remote places, its most imperiled and perilous countries, and then into fifteen months of harrowing captivity—an exquisitely written story of courage, resilience, and grace.

QUOTE

Whenever you’re doubting yourself or have imposter syndrome, use this reminder. Put in the work and enjoy the results. Rinse and repeat. Don’t question yourself, just put in the work and watch all the good things unfolding. You got this!

COFFEE

I recently changed my morning coffee to Balzac’s espresso. It’s velvety smooth and has an incredible aroma. I truly love starting my day with it.

Fall Favorites 2020

PureStudiosAgnesKieszOct1-3sm.jpg

Fall is here and I’m hoping it will stay for a while…

Fall is such a beautiful season, however in Ontario, Canada it doesn’t last very long. It always gets very challenging booking fall photoshoots, because there’s only a few weeks to work with when the colors are at their finest and the leaves are still on the trees.

I really wanted to enjoy this season before winter comes and we’re stuck indoors…

Here’s a few of my fall favorites which made me enjoy this time more:

  1. White Sweaters

As a big fan of white I don’t believe in saying “no white after Labour Day”. White sweaters have this air of coziness about them and they go beautifully with all colors.

2. Fall Blazer

It took me a while to find the perfect blazer. It goes well with both pants and skirts, it’s also very comfortable.

3. Books

Good books are a must for fall! They are obviously great companions during long, fall evenings. So far, I enjoyed these two books the most this fall:

“American Dirt” by Jeanine Cummins - while there’s a heated discussion about this book, I can’t deny that I couldn’t put it down.

Synopsis: Lydia Quixano Pérez lives in the Mexican city of Acapulco. She runs a bookstore. She has a son, Luca, the love of her life, and a wonderful husband who is a journalist. And while there are cracks beginning to show in Acapulco because of the drug cartels, her life is, by and large, fairly comfortable…

“Educated” by Tara Westover - it’s easy to forget at times that this book is actually a biography.

Synopsis: Tara Westover was 17 the first time she set foot in a classroom. Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, she prepared for the end of the world by stockpiling home-canned peaches and sleeping with her "head-for-the-hills bag". In the summer she stewed herbs for her mother, a midwife and healer, and in the winter she salvaged in her father's junkyard.

4. Green Heels

I’ve been eyeing these Sam Edelman heels for a while as they’re supposed to be not just beautiful but also easy to walk in and quite comfortable. They didn’t disappoint and are the most comfortable pair of heels I own.

5. Photo of the season: Shammy

It’s always very hard to choose a favorite photo of the season as they’re all special to me. There’s something about this image though as I feel the expression, composition and even the outfit came so beautifully together.

6. Sweaters & dresses

If you know me personally, you might already know that I adore wearing dresses with sweaters in the fall. It’s such a photogenic outfit and I don’t see it out there enough. It’s feminine, comfortable and creative.

7. “Normal People”

Based on Sally Rooney’s New York Times best-selling novel, “Normal People” tracks the tender but complicated relationship of Marianne and Connell from the end of their school days.

I read Rooney’s book few months back and learned from one of my clients that CBC streams a tv show based on it. I found it excellent and couldn’t stop watching it.

I hope you enjoyed these Fall Favorites & found them inspiring! Enjoy your fall,
