Sandeep

I was so excited to work with Sandeep Sohal again on updating her real estate photos. She rocked her photoshoot just after successfully wrapping a challenging real estate transaction. Being a wife, mother and a professional is not easy so kudos to all women who are doing their very best every single day!

Sandeep’s brand is fresh and modern and she wanted her photos to really reflect that. I fell in love with every outfit Sandeep brought to her photoshoot.

Jennifer, Women Rocking Real Estate

Jennifer Percival of Women Rocking Real Estate

Jennifer Percival of Women Rocking Real Estate

Few weeks ago, we took a trip up north for Jennifer Percival’s lifestyle photoshoot. Jennifer is a serialpreneur with several businesses under her belt already and Women Rocking Real Estate is her new venture.

Since this is not the first time I’ve been photographing Jennifer, the experience couldn’t be more flawless. We already know each other and Jennifer knows I don’t torture people with my camera ;) Just kidding, but our photoshoots always include a pre-photoshoot consultation to break the ice and the photoshoots are always guided by me (I don’t expect you to know what to do in front of the camera to look candid). This helps tremendously, because most women feeel nervous having their photos taken.

Jennifer’s Brand Recipe

Colors: pink, blue, green + lots of white

Symbol: unicorn

Props: coach’s must-haves! (phone, laptop, notebooks) + decor pieces in brand colours for the house (pillows, blankets, mugs, flowers)

Why we loved working with Jennifer: she's a fierce, no-bs, action-oriented serialpreneur who’s extremely passionate about women empowerment!

HUGE thank you to Pure Studios and Elegant Makeup for my personal branding photoshoot! All you ladies in real estate... Agnes is the most incredible photographer!

Payal, The Eastern Bazaar

Payal Bhakta of The Eastern Bazaar

I loved working with Payal on her Personal Branding Photoshoot so much it’s really hard to find the right words to describe it but “magic” could certainly be one of them!

Payal is an Interior Designer and a true visionaire. The set up for her photoshoot actually started two days prior, because we wanted to feature quite a few statement pieces from her store, like the iconic peacock chair or Balinese parasol and of course crystals.

We loved decorating multiple photo sets with crystals, which made me realize they truly go with all types of interior design. They looked amazing in a Scandinavian bedroom, eclectic living room and bohemian garden.

We simply had to take advantage of a beautiful summer day and also take photos outside!

Pink Avocado Nutrition

September is here! August and September are actually my two favorite months for outdoor photoshoots. Thanks to cooler temperatures we don’t get tired and sweaty so easily, light is slightly less harsh and our make-up doesn’t run… These are all things that make lifestyle outdoor photoshoots way more productive and successful.

For this photoshoot with Cathy from Pink Avocado Nutrition we did a ton of fun things including a picnic in a nearby park and a trip to a great local grocery store Apple Factory.

Here are some Perfect Picnic tips from Cathy:

  1. Check the weather!

  2. Keep the food as simple as possible, pick up prepared foods and snacks, pre-cut fruits. Crackers, grapes, cheese are great snacks.

  3. Carefully pack one real knife—a camping knife if you have one—and have it handy in case there’s baguette to be sliced. I wrap mine in tea towels, handy and a little safer.

Dressing professionally & creatively as a Photographer

PureStudiosAgnesKieszAug1-4.jpg

Dressing in black and being creative with your outfits at the same time?

When you’re a professional working with people one on one, your presentation is always important. You can never dismiss the power of first impressions, how you dress and carry yourself also says a lot about you. You even show you respect your clients by dressing in a clean and professional manner for them. Even if it’s on a subconscious level, they will always appreciate it!

Before I became a Photographer, I was in another creative field which allowed me to dress in a fun way and I could be as creative with my wardrobe as I wanted. When I became a Professional Photographer, I had a bit of a hard time with the fact they dress mostly in black. So I made it my own! Even though I'm a bit limited with colour, I now love playing with different styles, textures and lines. I think it’s quite great to be able to show that we’re creative through our wardrobe.

This dress is one of my favourite work outfits for the summer. It's so flowy it doesn't restrict my moves in any way. The asymmetric lines are fun and creative (plus flattering!) and I still look professional. I usually pair it with black flats for work. After hours, I can easily make this outfit more casual by adding more summer-themed accessories.

Art of Marina

Watercolour Artist & Kimono Designer Marina Billinghurst

Watercolour Artist & Kimono Designer Marina Billinghurst

What a treat it was to finally work with Toronto Watercolour Artist & Kimono Designer Marina Billinghurst!

Marina’s work is becoming super popular not only in Toronto but also across the world. We had the pleasure of photographing the artist herself in her stunning Junction studio before heading out to Pure Studios for more photos.

Marina’s dreamy watercolour patterns adorn not only wall art but also accessories and of course her stunning kimonos. It was time to photograph it all!

Marina’s photos are just like her personality: effortless, free-spirited, creative, dreamy!

Marina is super warm and you simply want to be around her, but this lovely spirit also possesses an incredible strength. When she suffered a horrible car accident and learned about her mom being diagnosed with cancer shortly after, she decided there was nowhere to go but up.

Life is short and we just don’t know when or why it’s our time.

But we do know when we have to do something.

And we do it.
