It’s the perfect time of the year to get really cozy…
Cold weather and Ontario lockdown mean staying home as much as we can. Just like so many of us, I’ve been reading a lot, watching a lot of shows, changing up my makeup routine, doing some online shopping and also eating a lot of yummy food. Here are some of my favourite things that made my winter fun.
Lipstick
A client recommended this lipstick and I honestly can’t get enough of it. I think you can tell - I got it in three colours already. It also lives up to its name and I usually only apply it twice a day. Putting on lipstick is an instant mood booster for me, especially in winter.
2. Nine West booties
I couldn’t be more happy with this purchase. I love the texture of the shoes, they’re also very warm and comfortable. The heel is sturdy and not too high.
3. Music: Frederic Chopin (Fryderyk Szopen)
Chopin’s music does something to me. Time suddenly stands still and I forget about everything else. Chopin is the most popular and beloved Polish composer and pianist. His music is intertwined with a very dramatic period in Polish history, which together with his romantic nature gives it an unforgettable edge. “Ballade No.1” is of one my favorite Chopin’s pieces and Zimerman’s interpretation is undoubtedly beautiful.
4. Food: dosas
I’ve always been a big fan of Indian dishes but I haven’t tried dosas before. When a friend mentioned it, I knew I had to order it. I wasn’t dissapointed! Dosas are South Indian staple consisting of crepes accompanied with sides such as sambar and various kinds of chutney.
5. Good Fats Lemon Mousse
I really crave snacks in winter and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I’ve been snacking on Good Fats bars for some time, but this new flavour (lemon mousse) is my absolute favorite. It’s also white chocolate which I love. The bars are keto friendly and only have 190 calories each.
6. Book: Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
I have been reading so much lately but this book is such a stand out for me. It’s so poetic and beautiful!
Synopsis: For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet fishing village. Kya Clark is barefoot and wild; unfit for polite society. So in late 1969, when the popular Chase Andrews is found dead, locals immediately suspect her
7. The Sinner
I have been watching a ton of crime/mystery, to a point where I’m getting oversaturated with the genre. “The Sinner” really entertained me and I think Jessica Biel did a wonderful job.
8. Photo of the season: Chelsea
This has been my second time photographing Chelsea and this time around she wanted some sensual photos captured. I love working with clients multiple times as I feel we start “peeling the onion” and get deeper into their soul…
I hope you enjoyed this blog post & found it inspiring! Enjoy your winter,
xoxo
