Photoshoot Guidelines
hair & makeup
it plays a big role in how your photos turn out, avoid makeup that is too strong
avoid dark lipsticks and too much lip gloss; if your photoshoot is in winter and you get chapped lips, use a lip balm
colour your roots, avoid changing your haircut drastically in case something goes wrong
skin
avoid spray tanning, which can give skin an orange look
if you have tan lines, choose an outfit that hides them
hands
hands say a lot about us, make sure your nails look tidy and clean, fresh manicure is always good
wardrobe
avoid clothes with pattern, solid colours are best
avoid shiny suits
if you want to wear pattern, it's best not to mix patterns (for example avoid a tie with a pattern + shirt with a pattern together)
clothes should be well fitting, not too tight and not too loose; avoid loose sweaters
clothes should be ironed for the photoshoot
for more conservative professionals, covered arms for women are usually more appropriate
for a timeless look (especially for websites), avoid clothes that are too seasonal (summer dresses etc.) and choose evergreen outfits
DO NOT leave the outfit preparation until the morning of your photoshoot, have the outfits (+ jewellery and accessories) prepared at least the night before; we’re most likely to forget things when we rush in the morning
